Postpartum must-haves from a Mom of 4
We are going to keep this short and simple, because you don’t need as much as people think postpartum. These are the bare necessities and the things, 4 kids later, I still need postpartum.
Great nursing cami’s. IF You are breastfeeding, just trust me. I’ve bought them all. Target, Kindred Bravely, Amazon basics, Pea in the Pod. These are my absolute favorite. Why tank tops instead of bras? Because of the tummy control. I wear mine under long sleeve shirts or sweaters and you can just pull up the top and nurse while keeping yourself covered.
My breast friend nursing pillow. Save yourself the $20 and don’t get the updated one. This one is better IMO. I simply cannot live without this thing if breastfeeding.
Owala water bottle because Stanley’s spill. And these have a sip feature and a pour. And because you need to trust me, they rock.
Epsom salts for recovery. There is a common misconception to ice and use padsicles after birth because of soreness. Cold restricts blood flow while a warm epsom salt bath promotes blood flow—allowing your perineum to heal faster. Make sure they’re unscented.
New jeans. Just trust me on this one, don’t crush your spirit trying to get into pre-baby clothes. Every time I have a baby, I take myself to Old Navy or Target (somewhere inexpensive) and I buy new jeans because I deserve it, and you do not want to rush your 4th trimester or your recovery.
